Dear parents,

Welcome to the Paul Revere School! This guide will give you some important information about things you need to know for our school.

School Hours

School hours are 8:05 – 2:45.  Attendance is important! Students must be dropped off and picked up on time.

Breakfast is served in the classroom after students enter at 8:05.

Students are considered tardy after 8:10.

Uniforms

All students wear uniforms in the school colors. See Uniforms

Shirts can be navy, maroon, or white. Shirts must have a collar. Pants or skirts can be navy or khaki.

Sweaters or sweatshirts worn in class must also be school colors with no writing or designs.

Leggings can be worn only under a jumper or a skirt. Leggings must not be worn by themselves.

Uniform clothing can be bought at many stores such as Walmart, Target, and Old Navy.

Families may also choose to order uniforms with PRE symbols through the schools. Forms may be requested in the front office.

Calendar

The Paul Revere School year has three trimesters, from August to November, November to March, and March to June. Parents will receive a progress report halfway through each trimester and a report card at the end of each trimester. Parent-teacher conferences are held in December and April.

For information about our attendance policy, please see the Guide for Parents/Caregivers and Students.

For information on current events, see our calendar and school newsletters.

Enrichment Clubs

Each teacher in the school runs an enrichment club before or after school. There are two club sessions. The first session ends in December and the second session ends in May. Registration is through Sign-Up Genius. The link will be shared on Dojo. A permission slip will be sent home later with the name of the club that the student has entered.

Wednesday Movie

Every Wednesday, Paul Revere classes end at 12:30 for teacher professional development. Students may go home at 12:30 or stay for a movie until 2:45, the usual dismissal time. To go to the movie, students must bring back a permission slip and $1 each week.

Computer Programs

The Paul Revere School uses many computer programs to help students learn. Many of these programs can and should also be used at home. Your child will know his or her password from using it in school and your child’s teacher will send home information as well.

Communicating with Teachers

Paul Revere teachers and parents are a team to help students learn! The best way to communicate with your child’s teacher during the day is by Class Dojo or email. However, teachers are not able to respond while with students. You can also send a note to the teacher in your child’s folder, speak with the teacher at pick-up time, or call the school.

Important papers will be sent home in your child’s folder. One side is marked “Return to school” for homework and forms to be completed and returned. The second side is marked “Keep at home” for completed work and information papers. Please check your child’s folder every day.

Volunteers and Chaperones

We welcome parents who wish to volunteer with the school! Any adult who wishes to chaperone a field trip or volunteer in the school MUST complete a CORI background check form. The forms are available in the front office. The form must be completed at least 2 weeks before the volunteer/chaperone date. We recommend that you complete the form at the beginning of the year if you anticipate being a chaperone later.
